This past weekend, we planned a getaway to Asheville, North Carolina. However, Hurricane Helene had other plans. As we made our way into the area, we witnessed firsthand the aftermath of this catastrophic storm. Flooded streets, downed power lines, and debris made travel impossible. Roads like I-26 and I-40 were closed, and many areas had already seen historic levels of flooding. More than 700,000 people were without power, and rescue operations were underway as heavy rains and winds caused widespread devastation.

What we saw was heartbreaking: residents and businesses alike struggling to recover from severe flooding and damage. Asheville, a city known for its beauty and vibrant community, was now grappling with one of the worst storms in recent memory. The French Broad River and Swannanoa River both overflowed, leading to catastrophic flooding in neighborhoods like Biltmore Village, and parts of the region remain inaccessible due to landslides and flood damage.

We almost got trapped ourselves, as the roads quickly became impassable. Thankfully, we managed to leave safely, but many were not as fortunate.

Supporting Asheville Through Our Charity Drive

In response to this devastation, we’re stepping up to help.We will be donating $7 from every purchase to relief efforts in Asheville, at least until the end of October. If necessary, we’ll extend this initiative further to continue supporting those affected.
